The Internet is changing young people's brain chemistry; Self-care is making us lonely.
Finite Scroll #16
Hey buds! Welcome to a timely (actually running on Friday) edition of my lil newsletter.
In news that should be surprising to absolutely no one, a recent study on teenagers has shown that their brains are particularly affected by internet addiction. This can lead to compulsive internet use, strong desires to use the mouse or keyboard, and excessive media consumption. As a result, affected individuals struggle to maintain relationships and engage in social activities, may be inclined to lie about their online activity, and reported experiencing irregular eating habits and disrupted sleep.
With that, my potentially Internet-addicted pals, have fun clicking around and reading some links I saw this week that I couldn't get off my mind. ✨
You can read any/all of these today, over the weekend, or treat them as orphaned tabs you open in the background, only to come back to close in a few days. 🤳
